Disaster Strikes: DB Tebucky Jones Pulls His Hamstring.

During a non-contact passing drill yesterday, first-round draft pick Tebucky Jones injured his left hamstring. It is being speculated that he may be sidelined when training camp opens next month at Bryant College.
Jones, said he "heard something pop" when he attempted to change directions quickly while covering Tony Gaiter during a mini-camp workout yesterday morning.

"I've never had any problems with my hamstrings before this," said Jones.
Coach Pete Carroll, well aware of how debilitating hamstring injuries have been in the past to wide receivers Vincent Brisby and Terry Glenn, said Jones would be held out of practice during the final two sessions of minicamp, hoping it would heal quickly.

"We don't know the extent of it," he said with a worried frown, "but he won't be able to work for a couple of days."
A team spokesman indicated Jones probably would undergo an MRI this weekend to determine the extent of his injury.

"Our goal is to get him ready to play at cornerback this year," said Carroll, who as a result of the trading of Jimmy Hitchcock to Minnesotanow has only Chris Canty and veteran Steve Israel to potentially fill the right corner spot.

"Tebucky is only one of a couple of guys who could have great impact for us," added the coach. "I hope we can hit on a couple of these guys right away."
