| June 1, 1998 Will The Patriots Sign A Veteran RB Before The Season? Yesterday, the Patriots stated that according to how well the rookie running backs perform in this week's mini-camps, will determine whether or not they will sign a veteran. Bobby Grier said that they will sign a veteran running back depending on what the needs are. If the Patriots need a solid, quick, and reliable runner, they will likely sign Greg Hill to fill those needs. If they need a great blocker or short-yardage runner, they will likely sign Terry Kirby or Rodney Hampton. Erric Pegram is also among that list and is scheduled to workout Tuesday. Hopefully the rookies can perform up to expectations. True Fact: All the current Patriots running backs have a combined total of only 3 years NFL experience. All 3 years experience coming from ex-Bear FB Tony Carter, who is the projected starting FB. |
