And now, an exclusive "Mogilny" interview with Svetlana Baitova. M- Hi, Svetlana. SB- Hi. M- How are you? SB- I don't know. M- Tell us about Stuttgart. SB- It is in Europe, I think. There are many buildings. M- At the '89 World Championships, you seemed to be the team captian. Tell us about your Stuttgart teammates. SB- Well, Boguinskaia has trouble unzipping her suitcase, all Lashonova's plants died, Gurova likes day-old spaghetti, Sazonenkova wets her bed, Agache locks herself out a lot, Oksana likes to fix clocks, Olga likes rap. M- They weren't all your teammates. Gurova is from'87, Agache is Romanian and Oksana is retired. SB- Oops, they all run together. I washed my car, it didn't leak. M- Good, good Tell us about Dudnik. SB- Who? M- Olesia Dudnik, your teammate. SB- Oh, the fat one. Once I packed too much in my suitcase (imagine that) and she sat on it so it would close. M- Wonderful. Now about the Championships. Was it tense? SB- I've been all over the world, but I like Bulgaria best of all. After Stuttgart my hands were chapped from chalking so many bars so I sat on them. M- Tell us how you got started in gymnastics. SB- My mom drove me to the gymnasium. M- Did anything happen before that? SB- Well, once when I was 7, I accidentally tied the shoelaces on my left shoe to my right shoe, no wait, I tied the right shoelaces to the left shoe, or was it the wrong shoe to the left shoelaces, well, either way I stood up, tripped and fell on my head but, of course, there was no damage. M- Thank you, Svetlana. SB- Who? |
