Rules
The Commissioner is Richard Shulmistra. The Assistant Commissioner is Shannon Rowe. Any disputes that any owners have will be settled by the commissioner.
Draft:
Each team drafts 12 roster spots, consisting of the following:
2 QB’s
3 RB’s
3 WR’s
2 TE’s
1 Kicker
1 Defense (overall team)
Each week, each team is responsible for getting their lineup in to the SFL office. The due date for that is 12pm EST, Sunday (1 hour prior to most games). If a team has players playing on a Thursday or a Saturday, then they must get those players listed as playing 1 hour prior to kickoff on that respective day. NOTE: This is the responsibility of the individual team, not of the commissioner. If your email account doesn’t send the email when you click send on your computer, and it arrives late, it is NOT the league’s fault, and your player is not in the lineup that week. It is recommended that you email your lineup to the commissioner. If that can’t happen, you may email it to the Assistant, Shannon Rowe. It is recommended that you email a copy of your lineup to both people.
Each week, teams are allowed to make roster moves. They can move up to 3 players. The rule used to read: Any team can make 2 transactions a week, with 1 transaction involving up to 2 players, and another transaction involving 1 player. The rule was designed to keep teams from overhauling a whole lineup in 1 week. It has been modified to read: A team may make roster moves each week totaling a maximum of 3 players being moved from their roster. This may be via the waiver wire, or through trades. The cost per transaction is $5.00. If it is a multiplayer trade, then it is $5.00 for the trade. If the owner drops players, and acquires other players via the waiver wire, then it is $5.00 per roster move. This means that if you drop 2 players, and acquire 2 players, that is a $10.00 charge.
The time frame for roster moves is as follows: From the finish of Monday Night Football, to Midnight, Friday, EST.
Trades are subject to league VETO! A majority of owners must OK a particular trade. This means that if 2 teams are trying to make a trade, then the remaining 8 owners must have 5 that ok the trade. The time limit to this is 1 week after the posting of the trade. If it is vetoed, then the players go back to their beginning teams prior to the trade. This is a rule to avoid the dumping of players when a team is out of the playoff picture.
Each owner will put in $50.00 at the beginning of the season for the SFL entry fee for that year. There are 2 divisions, with 5 teams in each division. The winners of each division will get $100.00. The second place team in each division will get $50.00. Those 2 teams will play each other within the division. The winner will get $50.00 and play in the SFL Championship Game. The winner of the SFL Bowl will get another $100.00.
Points will be calculated as follows:
6 points for a TD, whether Passing, Rushing, or Receiving.
Bonus Points:
1 point for every 25 yards passing.
1 point for every 10 yards rushing.
1 point for every 10 yards receiving.
2 points for every 2-point conversion.
Kickers: 1 point for every PAT. 3 points for every FG, and a bonus point for a FG of 40 yards and longer.
Defense (Overall Team):
If your team allows between 0-6 points, the owner gets 12 points.
If they allow between 7-13 points, the owner gets 8 points.
If they allow between 14-20 points, the owner gets 4 points.
If they allow 21+ points, the owner gets 0.
The Commissioner will discuss any discrepancies or disputes with his Assistant, and the league’s decision is final. If there are any disputes with the scoring system, let the league office know. The league uses StatsWorld for scoring purposes, and you can access their website at www.statsworld.com. If you have a dispute with their scoring, you have 1 week to let the office know. The league will look into it, and respond accordingly. If the week time limit passes, then it is considered final, and no further disputes will be handled.
There is a league trophy. The winner of the SFL Championship gets to hold onto the trophy until the end of his reign. There are a couple of ways to get the trophy to the next winner.
1-Mail (please insure) the plaque to the League Office and Richard Shulmistra. Mr. Shulmistra will get the plaque engraved with the new year and winning team’s name, and mail it to the winner. Keep your receipt, and mail a copy of it to the office for reimbursement through the fees page.
2-Check to see how much it will cost to get it engraved, and ask Richard Shulmistra if that fee is ok. If ok’d, then have the engraving done. Once done, the previous winner then can mail it to the new winner. Then mail the receipts, or a copy of them, to Mr. Shulmistra for reimbursement through the fees page.
3-Any other arranged agreement with Richard Shulmistra.
Now these rules are designed so that the owners can have fun. It is, after all, a fun league for the 10 owners. If you have any questions about these rules, please let the Commissioner know. Thanks and Good luck!
