This is the second story that I remember from Dean (the first is in the stories section under: "Dean's tournament story"
Dean was working his way through college at a small party store, somewhere out by Western Michigan University I believe. He was a Tang Soo Do Blackebelt at the time. On day, when he and a co-worker were the only two people in the store, a man entered with a gun. This particular robber wasn't going to commit his crime with a run-of-the-mill, whimpy handgun, no sir, he was going to do it with style. The man hefted a massive shotgun and sauntered up to the counter where Dean was stationed. The sly robber, totally in command of his environment, never noticed Dean's co-worker slip into the back room where there was a telephone, just ripe for a quick call to the local police. He masterfully laid the gunbarrel on the counter, pointing vaguely in Dean's direction and calmly demaded all the money in the cash register.
The robber must have been dreaming about how he was going to spend his new fortunes because the mental giant had layed the tip of the barrel past Dean's body. If he was to pull the trigger, he'd have missed Dean completley and blasted the heck out of the liqour behind him on the shelves. Mr. Suave and confident stood there like a wild west star with only one hand resting gun on the counter. He was probably working out an Eastwood-esque comment to say as he strolled out the door, riches in hand.
Dean, decided to take the gentleman out of the picture before he did anything really stupid (or maybe before he laughed his way into being shot out of spite). Using his martial arts trained speed and reflexes, he grabbed the barrel of the gun, two handed, and yanked. The surprised robber / genius stumbled forward wide-eyed as the gun was pulled from his hand. I don't know if he stopped his forward momentum or not before Dean gave him the shotgun back,...butt first,...in the forehead,...HARD!
By the time the police came bursting in with guns drawn, Dean was sitting cross-legged on the counter with the shotgun beside him. He had emptied all the shells onto the spread-eagle body of the unconsious, would-be, clever robber.
