The Cherry Project
First released in 1990, the Cherry Project was apparently quite popular during its year-long run. It is about an aspiring figure skater named Cherry, and is billed as "the magnificent skating comic". :-)

One last thing...
Please note that the animation and comics listed above may be difficult to find in N. America. If you're interested, try a store specializing in Japanese comics or animation (your local Chinatown area is a good place to start). If they don't carry what you're looking for, ask; they might be willing to oblige. :-) If don't know of any such stores, try a local video or comic book store, you never know! If all else fails and you really want to get your hands on this stuff, you can always buy from the 'Net (make sure the source is trustworthy, of course). Also note that this stuff is pretty pricey, as are most things these days...
