Portugal's FC Porto also clinched a spot in the next round by beating Norway's Rosenborg 3-0 in Group D. Alen Boksic and Alessandro Del Piero scored two goals each, and Paolo Montero added another for Juventus (3-0-1). The top two teams in each group advance. Manchester United, which had hoped to qualify Wednesday, instead lost a European home game for the first time in 40 years, falling 1-0 to Turkey's Fenerbahce at Old Trafford. Elvir Bolic's shot was deflected over goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel in the 77th minute. United (2-2) is second in Group C, two points ahead of the Turkish team with two games to go.
