Wayne Crawford - Reggie

Reggie is 5 foot 10 and weighs 185 lbs. He was born on 18th April 1961 (bloody old codger!) in Toronto. Last year he was the player coach of Guildford Flames (boo, hiss), who narrowly avoided gaigning any honours (shame!).

Despite his age (37 by the end of the season!), Reggie was an astute signing for Bracknell. Although many predicted that he wouldn't be able to cope with the speed of ISL, and that his knees would cave in, he was one of the best defenders in the league, and even gained his call up for the GB World Championship swuad (possibly the oldest debut call-up ever!). His wealth of experience easily made up for his lack of speed, and he was often able to clear danger before the opposition player even knew he was in a position to cause some damage. And he ably proved the doubters wrong, by playing in all 63 games for BRacknell. Although mainly a stay-at-home defender, he could also go forward to do some damage, and who could forget his great goal against the Storm towards the end of the season?
