Eagles fall to Gazelles

The Aberdeen Central Golden Eagles fell to 3-1 on the season with a tough loss Friday night in Yankton. The Eagles were cold from the field, shooting only 22 percent. Defensively, the Eagles played very well, holding a talanted Gazelle team to only 39 points, but just couldn't get over the hump on offense. The Golden Eagles trailed by 5 at halftime and by 6 after 3, and made a nice run midway through the final quarter to pull to within 4 points with about 3 minutes left to go, but good freethrow shooting by Yankton doomed the Eagles. The Gazelles remain undefeated in 4 tries. Next action for Aberdeen Central will be on Tuesday, when they travel to Huron to face the Tigers.
