Four Goal 4v4
This game of 4v4 uses four goals, two on each end. A team defends two goals and attacks the other two goals. Have extra balls on the two endlines behind the goals to keep the game moving. Players should be looking to change the point of attack quickly when one area is too heavily defended.
Variations on the game:
- Players can only score when all team members have crossed midfield. This teaches players to go forward when attacking.
- As a warmup, allow teams to score in any of the four goals.
- Move the goals ten yards closer to the midline. Teams can score points by either passing or dribbling through the goals.
Teaching Points:
- Attackers should spread the field giving support and providing opportunities for penetrating passes.
- Attackers should switch the point of attack to runners off the ball to create opportunites.
- Defenders need to keep compact, ball-side and goal-side.
