So, please extract the text below, print it, and distribute it to everybody you know ================================================== Dear FirearmsÆ Owner, May 15, 1998 RFC: #2 ItÆs a go! The FED UP II Rally on Parliament Hill is officially declared for Tuesday, September 22, 1998. This decision was due to the instantaneous and terrific support from over 60 clubs and individuals in just a few days. It resulted also from the responsive and unqualified backing by CanadaÆs major firearmsÆ organizations. Congratulations to the committed for answering the call. The date of Tuesday, September 22 was selected since Parliament would probably be in session. Organizers felt that an enormous crowd and thunderous ovations would send powerful messages to sitting members in the House. Saturdays were given consideration, however, politicians and members of the media would tend to be out of town for the weekends. Hopefully, gun owners will realize just how essential this rally is and will find creative ways to attend. Numbers will make the desired impact. Now the work begins. Spread the news to others. Arrange your vacation time to be at the Ottawa rally on September 22. Develop your own circle of like-minded friends. Plan how your group is going to write, phone, fax, and email to protest C-68. Already several thousand brochures announcing the FED UP II Rally are being distributed through communication networks across Canada. Preparations are well underway to form an Organizing Committee to implement the needs of firearmsÆ owners and other FED UP groups. Further details will be communicated, as they become available. This is an absolutely critical time for all firearmsÆ organizations and individuals in the country to unite in a common cause: to protect our private property, our constitutional rights and our fundamental freedoms. Accordingly, it is essential that all gun organizations set aside their past differences and cooperate with the common purpose of assembling the largest political rally in the history of Canada: FED UPII. To encourage early participation, organizations that commit to supporting the FED UP II Rally will receive the status of ôSponsorsö. Their names will be publicized on rally literature and on the INTERNET in the order that their request to be a sponsor was received. It is expected that a complete list will appear daily in the Canadian FirearmsÆ Digest. Convince your organizations to act swiftly and make substantial commitments. The final day for organizations to be added to the sponsor list will be September 1. Eastern hospitality lives. To reduce costs and to accommodate some participants from remote parts of Canada, plans are being made for billeting rally members in a variety of locales. Costs are expected to be low or non-existent, with the probable exception of meals. In most cases local transportation will be provided. A prime objective of the FED UP II Rally will be to deliver into the hands of Justice Minister, Anne MacLellan, one million signatures on a ôRepeal C-68ö petition currently being circulated in firearmsÆ stores across Canada by Reform M.P. Garry Breitkreuz. Stay tuned. Yours sincerely, Al Dorans, RFC Ottawa Communications: Karl Schrader Email: schrader@magma.ca / Telephone: 1-613-224-2025 ------------------------------
