Helpful Hints and Tips
Here are some things that will help you become a better WarCraft player.
(tip#1) Always attack using the Patrol command.
(tip#2) The Lumber Bug is a glitch in the game that when you assign your Peasant/Peon to chop wood and then build a Townhall or Lumbermill after the construction is complete you will gain 100 wood back. Extremely important at the beginning of the game when starting with one Peasant only.
(tip#3) Another glitch in the game is that you can see wood being chopped away at your enemies town (telling you if the enemy is rushing or making a lot of towers and going for the quick upgrade)(Also tells you a nice place to attack and kill some easy peons).
Also you can see walls being built anyware on the map (telling you if the enemy has towers by the shape of the walls being in square shapes or where he may be expanding to).
(tip#4) You come across an enemies abandoned expansion town instead of using all your forces leave a Balista/Catapolt in the center to destroy the buildings.
(tip#5) If using Orcs try throwing runes in the path of the enemies gold miners.
(tip#6) If using Orcs use haste & Unholy Armor on a Death Knight run him into the path of the enemies gold miners and cast Death & Decay spell on him. It wont hurt the DK but it will kill the gold miners and also the units your enemy sends in to stop him. After they all die he can make a quick escape.
(tip#7) If using Humans cast invisible on a peasant sneak him in toward the back of the enemy town so he can't see you and start making offensive towers.
(tip#8) It takes 4 Demo Squads/Sappers to blow up a Castle/Fortress, 3 for a Hall & Keep/Stronghold.
(tip#9) Try not to attack your enemies in the same spot every time. Attack from one side of their base a couple of times and then the other side this will usually catch them off guard and you will do more damage.
(tip#10) Cast BloodLust, Unholy Armor, and Haste on Dragons and for a few seconds they are Very destructive.
(tip#11) Depending on what type of map your on say if you have unlimited gold and no chance of being rushed like if surrounded by stone or lots of trees then I would first get a flying machine and search the map. Then I would think about making lots of dragons. (use tip#10)
(tip#12) Situation...You have 8 Decked Out (Leveled up completly & all spells researched) Ogre Mages and a Death Knight with Death & Decay researched. You are faced up against 20 Paladins. Heres what ya do. Place the DK safely behind the Ogres. Blood Lust all the ogres, cast runes in-between the Ogres and Paladins, cast Death & Decay on the Paladins. The Paladins will come to attack the DK running through the runes blowing themselves up and then be blocked by the Lusted Ogres while the DK continues to cast Death & Deacy.
