Mikael Tillstrom is one of the underdogs of tennis. He has defeated several other superstars such as Goran Ivanesevic and Stefan Edberg to mention a few. Due to his inconsistency, he is not able to break into the top 30. He is a typical Swedish player, good at any type of surface except on clay. In the second half the 1997 season, his game has dropped as a result, he is endanger of being out of the top 100.
