Reasons for hating ND: I am sick and tired of seeing Notre Dame barely qualifying for a bowl and then getting the bid over teams with eight or even nine wins. Reputation should not be the ultimate deciding factor year in and year out; someone has to wake up and face the music that Notre Dame is getting priveliges no other team would receive. Then there is the whole matter of their own tv company --Notre dame Broadcasting Company. While fill my every Saturday with the Irish struggling against Stanford. Despite what the media thinks not everyone worships the Irish, in fact the Irish make some of us want to puke.

Why I hate ND:Notre Dame is mediocre year in and year out and yet occupy a bowl berth. They are on TV every week and no one cares. This time could be used for significant games. They are worshipped by the media and don't deserve any of the perks they get. Other schools have to earn their noteriety. But not Notre Dame. They are viewed by some with god-like status. Never has the image and hype been so disparate with the reality. I HATE EM!

Why I hate ND: I get sick of being inundated by ND garbage all the time, especially during football season. I hate the fact that NBC shows every single game. I hate the fact that so many people love ND for no good reason. I hate it that ND has that touchdown Jesus thing. If I were religious, I'm sure I would find this to be completely offensive. I'm sure there are other reasons, but I can't think of them right now.

Why I hate ND: Pretty much the for the exact reason you mentioned above. In 1994 a 9-2 K-State team ranked 9th in the country was left out in the cold and sent to the Aloha Bowl in Hawaii, while a 6-4-1 Notre Dame team was invited to the Fiesta Bowl, which happens to be one of the biggest bowls.

Why I hate ND: The NCAA should force Neutre Dame to join a conference. They've received too much preferrential treatment. In the past, they've kept good teams out of bowl games who were more deserving than the leppercons.

Why I hate ND: This team has personfified what it takes to be a media whore. As a result they are consistently overrated. What makes it worse is that all of their fans buy into the hype and try to push it on others. Additionally, I despise Lou Holtz, and even though he is no longer the coach, his strong connection to the Irish intensifies my hatred for the team.

Why I hate ND: So many reasons...One good one is when the bowl alliance was just beginning and the Notre Lame atheletic director campaigned for ND to have a permanant spot in the alliance due to it's tradition and fan base. Luckily it was shot down or we could have had the spectacle of a 2-8 ND team playing in the Orange Bowl because after all, they are very popular and College football should be based solely on popularity. Why I hate ND: They are overrated and think they can manipulate the game of college football because of their joke of a tradition. The media and these bowl committees continue to suck their asses and waste money on them hoping that they will win a national championship which will never happen again. The fans, players, and coaching staff are expert whiners at making pointless excuses; they just can't handle losing. They claim to play one of the toughest schedules in the country; last year it backfired on them. They will schedule only 2 game series with perennial powerhouses like Nebraska or Ohio State but long term series with creampuffs like Army and Navy just to get an easy win, it shows how cowardly they are. If NBC wouldn't be wasting millions televising such garbage as Notre Dame football, they wouldn't have lost their bid to televise NFL games to CBS. Greed is also another reason why I hate Notre Dame as well. You are exactly right, Notre Dame sucks and they also blow, swallow, and bite!

Why I hate ND: Why I hate Notre Dame (My Top 5 Reasons):

1. Their "holier than thou" attitude. They act like they're god's gift to college football. They left the CFA high and dry when they cut their own deal with NBC.

2. Their total hypocracy. The games against Miami were proclaimed the Catholics vs the Convicts. Ironically, it was Rick Mirer who had been arrested for public drunkeness.

3. Always overrated. In 1985 they were an early season #1, but they finished the year 5-6 including a 58-7 thrashing at Miami. Looking for something more recent? How about their leap to #11 after beating Michigan on Labor Day weekend? Luckily, Michigan State exposed them for the frauds they are just one week later.

4. Preferrential treatment. Join a conference already!!! I hate the way bowl committees bend over backwards to accomodate Notre Dame.

5. Did I mention I'm a Miami Hurricanes fan?

Why I hate ND: My alma mater was stiffed out of a decent bowl in 1994 because Neutered Dog, ranked lower than us, was picked for the bowl we should have gotten. Instead, we got the Aloha Bowl, meaning only a few of the richest KSU fans could go. You may recall the flap last year regarding KSU's invitation to the Fiesta Bowl--many thought the organizers only picked us because they knew over 40,000 of our fans would go. So you can imagine how much we hated having to play in a bowl game that wasn't even on this continent, while Neutered Dog got to go to one that was close enough to actually attend.

Why I hate ND: I actually went to Notre Dame, '73 to '75, and graduated in '75. I was not particularly impressed with the place. The students were, on the whole, spoiled and very immature. The teachers were fifth- rate. I received a far better education when I went to the University of Washington.

Hmmm...the ENTIRE Purdue game last year (I was a senior at Purdue at the time), I was getting sick to my stomach by how biased the announcers were toward Notre Dame. More than that though, there was not a single commercial break without some bologna about Notre Dame. So even when the announcers weren't feeding a load to the audience, I couldn't get a break from it!

To be fair, they did have ONE commercial about Purdue (during the entire game).

By the way, proof that your parents always know best: My dad (who also went to Purdue) always told me that I should hate Notre Dame while I was growing up. I was always like "Why? We're Catholic, and Catholics are supposed to like Notre Dame." It wasn't until I attended Purdue that I understood...proof that wisdom comes with age too...
