Hackbert- So. Starrucca met Groney division leader Waukesha and blew them away 4 games to 1 on the road. Long Island fell to 10.5 games off the pace while splitting a series with the 3rd place VitaMen. Bergen found out why Norfolk is the league's best  in dropping 4 of 5 at home.

Gorney - Waukesha maintains a 5.5 game lead over Siouxland whhile dropping 4 of 5 to the Ainspans, adding to thier home record miseries. Siouxland went 1 game over the breakeven mark by taking 3 of 4 from Shiloh division leader Newmarket.

Shiloh - Newmarket, while losing 3 of 4, saw thier division lead go to 2 games over Mimosa. The Mirthmakers closed the gap by taking 4 of 5 from 3rd place Wilderness. Cleveland was swept by the desperate Gaelics.

Dave Brown - Norfolk felt no pressure from the Gaelics sweep of the Spiders. Taking 4 of 5 from the non-hitting Barflies, the Pilots maintain an 8 game edge. Fortney took 3 of 4 from Brandenton, While Baaltimore lost 2 of 3 against Mexacaliin a battle of cellar dwellers.

Pilot Jim Bunning moved to 21-3 as the league's top pitcher. Siouxands Koufax fixed his aim on 20 wins by getting his record to 17-3. Ferguson Jenkins looks for the ERA crown with a slim lead over Bunning 1.49 to 1.54. Koufax is the king of K's with a huge lead over Bunning.

Ainspan's Oliva keeps on hitting. Leading the league with a .366 batting average. His 75 runs and 88 RBI's also are leaders. Mantle's 26 HR's set the pace in that category.

Next week sees the Ainspans take on another division leader while traveling to Newmarket. Waukesha takes thier road showto the gasping Gaelics. And Norfolk looks for an early Christmas treat as they set to feast on Mexacali. <sigh>

Hackbert- South Starucca going 8-2 over the last 10 games has opened a 9.5 game lead over 2nd place Long Island. The Islanders split a series with League leader Norfolk , while the Barfies 5 game winning streak has pushed them 5 games over .500 and on the way to a respectable season.

Gorney - Waukesa leads by 7.5 games over arch-rival Siouxland. Waukesa excellent road record of 35-20 has offset a mediocre home record of 19-20. Taking 3 games of the recent 5 game set against Siouxland has set them up for a division title as long as they keep up thier current pace.

Shiloh - Newmarkets 4-1 series win over Mimosa has dropped the Mirthmakers to 4.5 games off the pace giiving the Eh's some breathing room. Mimosa still has time to close with 64 games left in the schedule.

Dave Brown - With Norfolk spitting thier games with Long Island, the Gaelics managed to pick up a half game on the League leading Pilots. The next few weeks will tell if Kilkenny can cose the 8.5 game gap or go home with thier best record ever and a bridesmaid bouquet.

     Norfolk's Jim Bunning became the season's first 20 game winner thus far posting a 20-3 record. He maintains top status in numerous areas and is ooking like this season's Cy Young winner. Sandy Koufax at 16-3 should be the next lpitcher to hit the 20 win mark. Ferguson Jenkins 1l.43 ERA leads Bunnings 1.56.

     Tony Oliva is making  a push as this seasons top hitter his .377 BA leads Rico Carty's .345. Oliva also leads the eague in Runs scored (74), RBI's (88), Hits (142) and Doubles  (34). Mickey Mantle leads the homer race with 24.

The Norfolk Piots lead the team races with ERA 2.14 and shut-outs 18....they also ead the team batting with a .263 team average. No wonder they have the best record in the league.

First I'd like to thank Jeff for all his work in making the Yesterday web site a reality. Thanks Jeff! I will try to keep up with his fine example.

With 90 odd games under our belt the Norfolk Pilots seem to be the class of the league setting the pace in team stas for both batting an pitching. Excellent use of many role players has Manger Warren looking at a landslide vote for Manager of The Year. The Pilots lead by 9 games over the Kilkenny Gaelics, who only have the 3rd best won lost record in the league. So. Starucca leads the Hacbart by 8 games over a fine Long Island team. Waukesha leads arch-rival Siouxland by 6.5 and in the tightest race Newmarket is a mere 1.5 games ahead of Mimosa.

This week features some top series as the Pilots travel to Long Island as Islanders battle for their lives and Kilkenny hopes for some help! Waukesha and Soixland face off for an all important division leading mathcup in the Gorney Division. Kilkenny's Jim Perry has the lone no-hitter so far in the 67 season allowing 1 baserunner on his own error vs. Mexacli. Oliva of the Ainspans has his eyes on the Triple crown and while the ilots Jim Bunning looks for a possible 30 wins rookie Sandy Koufax is stealing some headlines.
