The
1973 TCBA Yesterday champions were Jim McEneaney's Long Island Islanders,
featuring ERA leader Jon Matlack (22-5, 1.64, pictured at right) and home
run leader Nate Colbert (38 HR, 103 RBI). The championship series, played
in person on February 10-11, 1996 at the TCBA winter meeting in Lancaster,
PA, saw the Islanders defeat Larry Smith and his Mimosa team, which featured
Joe Morgan, Ken Holtzman and Cesar Cedeno. Don Mahley's Fortney Gators
and Bill Kirwin's Birch Inn Brewers won their respective divisional pennants
but succumbed in the first round playoff series.
