1996 TCBA Today Rookie Draft


Our rookie draft was held by live in-person auction at our annual meeting, held at the Willow Valley Resort, Lancaster, PA, the weekend of February 10, 1996. Absent members participated by mail bidding. The highest bid in the draft went to Charles Johnson, defensive standout of the Florida Marlins, shown above in a spring training drill tagging out an unnamed former TCBA applicant at home plate.

The successful team and high bid for each player is shown, in thousands of dollars as detailed in the TCBA Constitution (Rules 430-460). As a point of reference, a team's average annual allocation of TCBA money is about $120,000.
