First Goalscorer The odds on first goalscorer for this weekends big game are tricky, it`s hard to find real value. The following is a run down of the possibilities for this bet.
DEL PIERO, INZAGHI, Current Odds 6-1, VIERI, Current Odds 7-1
Del Piero. Brilliant striker. The direct threat likely to spearhead the Italian eleven, though the rumours are in favour of Vieri. Whoever plays with Zola is certain of a few shots....
Wright, Current Odds 6-1 Ian Wright, brilliant, fast, agile, amazing finisher. Heavily manmarked on Saturday.
So if its not to be one of the main strikers, then who? Sheringham will be as tightly marked as Wright. Paul Scholes will be playing in a very dangerous position behind the front two, but at 10-1 I dont like the odds. Gazza is a 14-1 shot, as is Beckham though he is doubtful due to illness. Dino Baggio is 16-1 but will not be the player to score. Albertini could be, an excellent player with a fine shot, and odds of 20-1 could be worthwhile. Ince is at the same 20-1 price, but I cannot expect too many journies for Ince into the opposition penalty area early on to make this a worthwhile bet. Tony Adams is my outside chance, if England can score it could easily be from a set-piece, and Tony Adams is a great header-er of the ball. A price of 33-1 is worthwhile.
