This package includes replacement splash screens for the start-up,
shutting down and shut-off of Windows 95.

PREVIEW:
You can preview the start-up, shutting down and shut-off screens
on the GIF file included in this package.

MANAGING VARIOUS SCREENS:
You can get a pretty good and easy to use freeware LOGO manager
and animator at www.zdnet.com, which was used to make the animation.

START-UP & SHUTDOWN SCREENS

AUTOMATIC:
Run 'screens'.bat by clicking on it in Explorer or at a DOS prompt.
This will make a directory called c:\windows\newscreens
& move your original screens there. If you decide you don't want to
use these screens run 'uninstallscrns.bat'. This will delete these
screens & reinstall your original screens.

MANUALLY INSTALLING START-UP SCREEN:
(The following assumes that your boot directory is C:\
and your Windows directory is C:\WINDOWS)

1. To install this file back up your old c:\logo.sys file, if you
have this file. (Win95 uses a default screen that is
built into io.sys.) If there is a file called logo.sys then
this will be used instead. Some other programs install
such a file.

2. Copy this logo.sys to c:\

3. When you next boot up you will have the new screen.

MANUALLY INSTALLING SHUTDOWN SCREEN:

1. To install these files, back up your old c:\windows\logow.sys
and c:\windows\logos.sys file.

2. Copy the new logow.sys and logos.sys to c:\windows

3. When you next shutdown your computer up you will have these screens.

Problems You May Experience-

You may be unable to see logo.sys & logow.sys.
To solve this, in explorer go to the View|Options menu
& under Hidden Files click on Show All Files.

As an alternative, you can open a DOS window & copy
the files with the DOS copy command.
