MK III's - Wedding Reports

Russ and Lisa

The Reception Report

5th July 1997

Report by Ross 'I blow chunks' Mitchell
AKA TINY

Present: Martin Nixon, Jim Fitzgerald, Tiny, Pete Galvin, Stuart"Fat Boy" Weaver Norm Proud, Simmo(and Mrs Simmo to be), Robin Cooper, Steve Hines, Maurice Barrett and of course Russell Witton.

Apologies: Tetley (for turning up!)

Jim Pete and Martyn go off to play!!!!and this was before the wedding!!!!!

A fine start to the evening of our Russells wedding to Lisa. Martin Nixon and Jim completely ignored the groom and their wives, hurried to the front of the queue to kiss the bride, who'd never met either of them (and probably hadn't been warned about them either).

Things remained quiet for all of about ten minutes, (just long enough to say hello and get the first round in) then Jim and Martin (again!) invaded the dance floor, closely followed by Tiny and strutted their funky stuff to the croning of Mick Jagger et al. This made for thirsty work and so another visit to the bar was in order. Simmo and Russ discuss the Honeymoon

By this time, the rest of the players had managed to take over one of the two bars as their own, and their ominous presence meant that there was no queuing at the bar. Thank God seeing as at was £2.50 a pint, there shouldn't be any queueing at the bar.

For the next hour or so, normality (as far as these guys go) was restored. Lots of drinking, eating of cake, and dancing to crap records that you only ever hear at weddings.

Having had enough of this, Martin and Jim (what is it with these guys?) managed to get a round of applause by descending in a glass lift from the 3rd floor, with their bare buttocks pressed to the glass, much to the amusement of SOME of the guests. (Edd note - I thought it was Martyn and Simmo who did the deed)

There's two hairy arse's in there honest!!!!

Not to be out done, Tiny, Tetley, Fat Boy, and various followers took to a balcony three floors up and put on a dancing show to crowd bellow, involving the world famous songs YMCA, Music Man, and The Time Warp (!!!!!!!)

The rest of the lads, while all this was going on, were alternating between the bar, the dancefloor, and the food. So by the time it came to present Russell with his gift, everyone had reall got into "the spirit of the occassion".

After presenting Russell with his cafetierre (theres imagination for you) the inevitable happened, as it always does when rugby players get together and drink, someone suggested a nice friendly sing song would be a good idea.

So we gathered ouselves around the bar and were led by Martin (what again)in a song all about how wonderful a 69 is. Simmo then convinced Russell to stand on a chair, and while Tiny led a rousing rendition of Aloetta (sorry about the spelling), the rest of the lads helped him out of his clothes.

By the time this song had ended, the original dozen or so players had grown to include six heckling women, a couple of curious fellows watching, and some Welsh bloke who no one knew, singing his heart out like his life depended on it. We knew he must be alright when Martin started "Singing in the Rain" and by the time we were stripped down to our boxers the manager had come over to put a damp squib on things. Martin answered this by pulling down his pants, bending over in the managers general direction. When news of this spread, more women came over to add to the group that were already there and they started chanting get your kit off. With the likes of Tiny, Pete and Fat Boy about, these women must have drunk more than the players.

MMMMM..... nice pants Simmo!!!

This bought the evening to it's natural conclusion as players and taggers on, were led by their wives and girlfriends into the night before things got really out of hand. It took Simmos missus at least 15 attempt to get him to go. This task was made harder, as he still had nearly a full pint to finish.

Little and even smaller come out to play!!!!!!!

As far as the MK lads go, nothing has been reported as to what happened to them after, we know Tiny blew chunks all over MK Central train station (platform 5 if your interested) and Fat Boy was also being sick well into the early hours. As for Tetley, well by 5pm on Sunday he still hadn't turned.

Verdict: All in all, a good night. We look forward to repeating it in two weeks at Simmo's wedding.

fatboys are us!!!!!
