Live Or Die II.

The wanderer arrives at a fork in the road taken care of by three guards. One of the two possible branches leads to life while the other one means death. One of the guards always tells the truth, one of the guards always lies, and the third guard either tells the truth or lies (not in an alternating pattern but in a rather random way). Apart from this, the three guards are identical. They know each other, so they know who tells the truth, who is the liar and who is the scatterbrain, and they know which branch means life and which one means death.

Can the wanderer determine, with only one yes/no question, which road leads to life?

If the scatterbrain randomly answers yes or no, how can the wanderer determine, with only two yes/no questions, which road leads to life? (The two questions can be asked either from the same guard or from two different guards.)
