from Donovan Bailey.com:

Bailey runs 9.98 in Luzern
Donovan Bailey is back and ready to take on the world. Bailey destroyed a world-class field, which included some of 2000's top 100m runners. Bailey’s time, 9.98, was run into a -0.7 wind was the 2nd fastest 100m time this year. Second place went to Kenny Brokenburr 10.20, 3rd was NCAA Champion Bernard Williams in 10.27, followed by African Champion Leonard Myles-Mills and Brian Lewis, the man who beat Maurice Greene two weeks ago.

Guadeloupe Results
Donovan was second to Lewis 10.26 to 10.35 on a very slow track. Donovan had a poor start but made up huge ground. We will have a video of this race on-line within a week. A little while after the 100M race Lewis came back to also beat Ato Boldon in the 200m.

Bailey Opens with 10.03!
Donovan Bailey continued his climb back into the world's top sprinting rankings with his first race of the season here in Martinique running 10.03 for the 100m with a +2.5 wind. He placed 2nd behind Brian Lewis of the U.S. in a world class field at this IAAF Permit meeting. He had earlier ran the Olympic "A" standard running an easy 10.21 wind legal in his heat. "I am very pleased with this run today", beamed Bailey. "This is just the beginning!", he added. This is Donovan's 2nd fastest opening race in his career. He opened his 1996 season with a 10.19 on the same weekend 4 years ago placing 2nd in a small meet in San Marcos, Texas. His next race will be Monday, May 1st in Guadeloupe.
