To Whom It May Concern,

As a Latino Greek Letter Organization, La Unidad Latina, Lambda Upsilon Lambda Fraternity, Incorporated respects the right of people to express their opinions and ideas freely. However, the Board of Trustees and National Council of La Unidad Latina, Lambd Upsilon Lambda Fraternity, Incorporated is prepared to litigate in cases of defamation, libel and harassment against our organization. Please be advised of the definition of libel, printed below:

"Accusation in writing or printing against the character of a person which affects his reputation, in that it tends to hold him up to ridicule, contempt, shame, disgrace, or obloquy, to degrade him in the estimation of the community, to induce an evi opinion of him in the minds of right-thinking persons, to make him an object of reproach, to diminish his respectability or abridge his comfort, to change his position in society for the worse, to dishonor or discredit him in the estimation of the public or his friends and acquaintances, or to deprive him of friendly intercourse with society . . . . " Blacks Law Dictionary (West Publishing 1990).

We respect our peers organizations, and expect the same level of respect accordingly. Although everyone is free to state their own opinions as they see fit, we will not tolerate or abide by unwarranted haraassment, defamatory accusations and comments and landerous speech. We will defend ourselves to the fullest extent of the law and ensure that anyone engaging in such destructive and harassing activities is held responsible for said actions.
