The forces of Nature have dictated to us that the quarters are placed differently in the Southern Hemisphere. Because the Equator is placed in the North, Fire is to the North. The Altar, and The Element Earth are placed in the South. So therefore, water is in the East, and Air is in the West - the opposite to the Northern Hemisphere.
Casting the Circle is done the same way, except in the opposit direction. The circle is conducted Deosil, however, Deosil (meaning the direction of the sun) in the Southern Hemisphere is anti-clockwise. Just as the water goes down the drain the opposite way, the circle is conducted in the opposite direction. Some find this difficult when all the rites and rituals handed down are conducted clockwise, so again, find out what works best for you.
In order to discover what works best for you - practice, and discover what you feel comfortable doing, and what you don't feel comfortable doing. The only way you can learn is by practicing.
What is Wicca?
Wicca is a form of Paganism. Paganism (now commonly referred to as Neo-Paganism - which, simply put, is New Paganism)is one of the "Old Religions" which have been around since before Christianity, and most probably since the dark DARK ages..... (meaning thousands upon thousands of years ago). Wicca/Paganism is an ancient form of worship where people worship the Earth from where they came, and celebrate the Earth, and her cycles. We recognise that without a "Great Father" there can be no "Great Mother" (and Vica Versa) as both energies are equal, and cannot be without the other.
