Gemini 22nd May to the 21st June

Gemini - being the third sign of the Zodiac, is one half of the positive-negative pair of signs in which the mental and emotional aspects of the archetypal individual are developing. Gemini is the 'mental' part of this duo. Inquisitive, intelligent, restless and adaptable, AIrsign Gemini excels in the communications field.
Positive Traits - Intellegent, inquisitive and quick witted, Geminis are lively in both converation and debate - understandably, the nimble, chattering monkey is one of the symbols of this sign! Light-hearted and flirtatious, adaptable Gemini can also show considerable intellectual dexterity when dealing with facts and figures, reason and logic. The 'twins' express the duality of Gemini and subjects are skilled at the co-ordination of minds and hands, and are often ambidextrous.
Negative Traits - The high energy level and mental agility of the Gemini can, when overstressed, deteriorate into restlessness and instability. ALways attracted to new interests and ideas, Gemini could well flit from project to project, touch on each in a superficial way and then abandon it. This lack of concentration and perseverence produces unreliability, inconsistency and capriciousness. Dishonesty can also arise when an inherent 'cleverness' enables Gemininians to live by their wits.
Mythology of Gemini - Gemini is symbolised by the Celestial Twins who, in Greek mythology, were Castor and Pollux, twin suns of Leda and Zeus. Castor was seen as the Mortal and Pollux the immortal twin and when Castor was slain, leaving behind a grief-stricken Pollux, Zeus, out of fatherly concern for his sons, made both immortal and placed them in the heavens. Gemini, from the Latin meaning Twin , has been variously interpreted throughout the ages - on of these interpretations seeing them as Man and Woman. Folklore see in Gemini the duality of Nature - growth and decay, light and dark, summer and winter.

Fellow Air signs Libra and Aquarius share Gemini's intellect and both would bring a keen sence of justice and restraint to Gemini's inconsistancies. Libra would bring a balance and a 'hesitancy' ; Aquarius, reasoning and social awareness. Partners should not be too concerned about Geminis roming eye!
Careers - Geminis excell at all types of communication and in particular those occupations which allow their initiative and imagination free expression. Making ideal journalists, broadcasters and authors they are also accomplished linguists, translators, teahers, lecturers and salespeople, occupations that give Gemini's agile mental and verbal skills full expression. Careers connected with travel i.e. war correspondent, news reporter, courier, dispatch rider, travel agent - or aerobatics pilo - are all typical 'mercurial'.
Health - Gemini has rule over the hands, arms, lungs and nervouse system and this restless sign suffers health difficulties with these parts of the body. Respiratory and vervous disorders, however, are the main Gemininian health problems. Counterbalancing nervous excitability, periods of rest are advisable and a channelling of Gemini's compulsive restlessness will avoid debilitating exhaustion. Overcoming illnesses comparitively quickely, Geminis keep a youthfull appearence throughout their lives.
Gemstone - Agate - Agate, a coloures opaque relation to chalcedony, has been known for thousands of years. Throughout the ages, agates with varying patterns and colours had such exotic names as ogle-eye, ribbon, star, coral and spotted agate. The moss agate, so names for it's delicate dark green 'leaf' pattern, was a talisman for farmers and an aid to water divining - attributing them to Venus in her rold as Goddess of Fertility. The Sumerians of Mesopotamia use these precious stones to protect themselves and improve their crops. Astrologically, the agate is now associated with Mercury, the ruler of Gemini.
