Sunrise in Santa Cruz

5:15 am,
What the hell.
might as well go see the sunrise.
Who saids the program is difficult?
Here I stand,
awhile ago the devilish coding that seems like a dragon emiting fire,
now it's just a whimpy worm curling on it's stomach.
Yhoohaaa.... I'm the mighty code worrier,
the king of the code jungle.

One thing I can tell you
about leaving the computer lab 5:30 in the wee hour
chilling wind beats up on your face
the parking lot is a lot emptier.

Dragging my legs towards the car
moving in a dreadful pace
my chest in pain
my spine feels like a thousand pounds heavier
But what the hell.
there is only one life to live
only one 27years of age on my calender.

Lucky me.
The Santa Cruz boardwalk is open.
I let the Explorer cruise slowly onto to the dock.
I must savor every moment.
Fog hoovering over the beach houses on the right side of the sea bank
looking just like in the movies,
elegantly shinning under the belly of the light morning sky.

I parked.
Obviously this is east.
Dark, thick, glommy clouds all around the ocean.
yet, a breath of light trying to penatrate the blocade.
Obviously, this is east.

A bottle of V8 tomato juice is chilling down my spine,
I feel alive.
Drinking is making too much noise
entangling my tangled thoughts.

after my impatients floated away
It came to me!
The sound of Santa Cruz Ocean.
It's ryhmic heartbeat takes over
cooling the morning with freash sea wind,
covering the cosmos with it's gigantic silky flow.
and never ending...

No one seems to be here,
sharing this wonderous thing
Except me.
Where are the liberal minded UCSC students at this moment?
Wuooooo, huoooo, Wuooooo, huoooo...
The sound of beating heart of Santa Cruz ocean calls out.

Here they are!
My loyal companions.
The seagulls dusting their feathers after the smooth landing.
Then they watch the ocean
breathless with pride
taking in every bit of the morning.

As the sea lions cheered,
Sun rise.
