Beth's Pets
Missy
Missy is a little bit of everything cat. My husband and I rescued her from the Humane Society of Greene County in October 2002 when she was four months old. She is a very active, very playful cat, who is unlike any cat that I have ever owned. Missy loves Joe and follows him around like a puppy dog. She even plays fetch with him!
Gizmo
Gizmo was my present for my 25th birthday. He was a Russian dwarf hamster and was adorable. He was my exercize partner. He would run around in his ball while I would ride my exercize bike. Gizmo loved sunflower seeds and building nests with fuzz, crinkles and torn up toilet paper tubes. Gizmo died very recently in January. He was only a year old.
Quark
Quark is my current hamster. I got him in 2004. He is a little over a year old now and is a crazy, run-around, make-a-lot-of-noise kind of hamster. He's meaner than Gizmo ever was. I've never been able to handle him. He is cute, though, and Missy loves to watch him.
Kitty was an orange tabby cat with a most original name. She died in August 1997. She loved watching water. I don't know why, she just did. She was almost 14 years old, and in the end used up most of her nine lives, so she took it easy. Her tail had a mind of its own, so we gave it its own name. Its name was Slimy because it looked like Slimy the Worm from Sesame Street.
Spooky was the most adorable black cat you'll ever see. He was the sweetest animal. He didn't bite or scratch intentionally (unlike Kitty.) He liked to bring me gifts. I thanked him profusely, and he purred happily. Spooky died in October 2002 at the ripe old age of 17.
Jake
Jake is an eight-year-old orange and white cat. My brother brought him home from a farm summer 1996. He's now very fat and happy. He's also a big mooch. I know he's still around, showing up at my parents' house once in a blue moon, but we are pretty sure he found a new family to live with.
Apple was a Lhasa-Apso/Poodle mix. She was about 14 when she died in 2001. She, being a dog, could be quite annoying. When I was the only one home, she would never leave me alone. At least she was cute.
O.J.
No, he wasn't named after you-know-who. He was named after orange juice because of his color. He was a Brittany Spaniel and deaf, so he was hard to control. We had to keep him tied up most of the time. He didn't hurt anything, he just ran around and got into things when he was loose. He died at 14 years old in 2001.
Rona
Rona was a 23-year-old Welsh pony when she died in 2000. We used to ride her in her younger years. We loved her a lot and brought her bunches of carrots and apples. She liked that. She was also a big fan of marshmallows.
