Nothing too excting going on. Had some very vivid dreams last night: one that I got
a very cool new apartment, another that I waxed my car. I guess only in my dreams do
I get the cool things I want!

I went up to Traverse City Thursday morning (the Fourth) and immediately washed my
car. I have a newfound obsession of waxing it - the roof is starting to sun fade,
IMHO. Didn't happen, though. Did go out to dinner with Lorie, Sam, Jill, Rand, and
Jeff, then fireworks, then Shimmers. Rand taught me how to punch properly, and I got
my aggressions out beating up a punching bag. It felt good. Maybe I'll take a martial
art sometime soon. Rand and Sam have taken Kun Taw at NMC and really like it.

Shimmers was the usual smokey bar. Had a guy dancing with us (me) which was flattering.
He had the most flexible ankles of anyone I have ever seen. And he was a cutie too!

Friday I hung out with Rand most of the afternoon. I dragged him around to Home Depot
for several hours looking for Stencils, wood stain, lumber, ceramic tiles. I have a
dream. I have a pair of bookcases in my head that I must create. They will double as
speaker stands for the rear speakers at my cool new apartment, whenever I get it. My
Dad is going to be very, very patient and very, very nice and help me build them.
Thank you Dad!

Friday night was again with Jill, Lorie, Sam, and Rand. Jeff was MIA - I never did
hear what happened to him. We just went to dinner. Er, *I* just went to dinner, they
went to see MIB 2 and I went home to go to bed.

First thing Saturday Mom and I went to Meijer to hit the great 6 a.m. to noon deals: $5
off CD's and DVD's. I got the Our Lady Peace CD with "Life" on it; not sure if that's
the newest. Also stocked up on Charmin (half price!) and Raisin Bran. Fiber is good
for you.

The remainder of Saturday was supposed to be spent down at the Open Space eating free
Ice Cream Sundae's and watching the Blue angels, then going out to see Jeannine at work.
Fortunately or unfortunately, however, my father replaced the timing belt on my car.
It was a long, arduous process that involved taking off many, many parts in order to
get to the timing belt cover. It even involved jacking the engine up to get the last
2 bolts off. My father prevailed, however, and even took the time to make my brakes
not squeak (they've squeaked for 2 years now). Thanks Dad!

Yesterday we went to 7:30 mass, then Dad changed the oil on my car. Can everyone tell
my Dad loves me? Then I went out for coffee and rolls at Big Boy with Joe Erlewein.
We traded web comics and checked out each other's cars, and chatted about former
classmates the other hasn't seen in a while.

I think that's one of the things I realized this weekend: It's been long enough since
High School that I've changed, and I'm curious what changes everyone else has made.
I'm actually looking FORWARD to my 10 year reunion. Weird.

After the 6 hour drive home yesterday (Gah!) I fired up the iron and decided to start
that frickin' Ren Fest skirt I've been meaning to do for, oh, 3 months now? Let me
tell you: I'm going to fry in that thing. 5 yards of thick brocade around my waist -
what was I thinking? Maybe I'll have to come up for Vikings in Traverse; it won't be
as hot in September, right?!?! ^_-

Also FYI: I will be in TC the 27th of July and the 9th of August. Make your
reservations now! Chris Vert will also be up on the 9th. Chris, everyone knows now,
so you can't hide! Muahahaha! ^_^
