Ok, so what's been up?

Well, today's Becky Crain's birthday. She's not on the mailing list, but if anyone
knows her and see's her today, wish her happy birthday for me, would ya?

Anyways, I'm listening to Mirwais - Paradise right now. Danged good stuff. I just
put their "Disco Science" song out on my website, on the "links" page
(www.geocities.com/ameliaamy/links.html) - it's the song in the background of the new
Body By Victoria commercial.

For anyone who missed the news, I'm dating John now. It's been... 2 and a half months
now (Hey, 2 months and 2 weeks exactly today, what a coincidence!) He's in Chicago,
hating his job and missing his friends but liking the town. He will most likely move
back to this area, since his best friend's here, his family's here, and so am I :-)

At work, we changed buildings but my phone # is still the same, don't worry. I doubt
we'll get new business cards though - now we're a more fiscally responsible company!

I was in Chicago last weekend, that was pretty cool. Primarily Ate, Drank, Shopped,
and made Merry. Not Mary, mind you. I got a pretty dress, a shiny skirt, a soft
turtleneck, and a nifty green-and-orange pendant which will be neat with my
green-and-orange dress.

What else? Well, I'll be in Chicago again this upcoming weekend (Labor Day Weekend)
for the wedding of Adam and Tina (the people John is staying with). That also means
I get to help John move AGAIN, from their apartment to the one he'll be in September
and onward. *sigh* that's a lot of moving, I helped him move 3.5 truckloads of stuff
the weekend before last.

The weekend AFTER that, I'll be in Traverse City for my parents' 25th wedding
anniversary. Go Mom and Dad! Good job!

In case anyone was wondering, I've finished my Java class. I completed 4 out of 5
homeworks, the final project, and the exam. I think that means I lost 10% right off
the top, but I did tell the professor in advance that I didn't think I'd complete the
final hmwk, and he said "do as much as you can" and might just base my grade out of 4
hmwks or something. That would be REALLY nice of him, but I don't know how fair that
is. It's kind of rewarding my procrastination...

Oh look! They already have my grade online... B+! I think he must have graded it out
of 4 hmwk's, because there's only a snowball's chance in Hell that I got a 100% on
the exam, projects, etc. Hmm... that means work will pay me back for part of my
tuition... cool! (75% of $194 is only $145.50, but Hey, I'll take it!) It'll at least
pay for my Spanish class that I'm taking this Fall - Conversational Spanish.
"Hola Juanita" ... "Ah, Antonio, Hola!" Muahaha! A select few know what I'm talking
about :-)

Other news? Um, I mowed the lawn yesterday. I felt manly. And Very, very sweaty.
Today I feel like I have stigmata - the lawnmower kept quitting in the overly tall
grass, and resarting it involved massive amounts of manual labor (read 25-50 pulls,
and I restartedt it 2x. Plus initial start). My hands hurt. And my lower back,
from the twisting.

Ok, enough whining. The lawn looks good now :-)

Group Update: Chris Meuzelaar moved to Wisconsin; Ona Horton moved to Denver, Colorado;
Laura Kieras is moving to Austin on Monday; Nadia is taking Arabic this Fall (and many
of her friends just moved away); Lorie Mikowski is engaged; Stacy Hsu's Baby Shower is
this weekend; Tina Cooling and Adam Gilman are getting married this weekend; and for
anyone who didn't know, Chris Vert's gradepoint in college kicked my @$$.

I can't think of anything else off the top of my head, so I think I'll go. Have a good
Labor Day weekend everybody!

-Amy

p.s. Dan, John and I might come down and visit in the Fall. 'S cool with you? Willing
to be tourguide a little? :-)
