Hi everyone!

I think I've finally settled in to Ann Arbor. Things are going well, I have
people to hang out with, and I have a hobby. Life is good.

I've been crocheting like a madman - I have an afghan (OK, a throw, not a
bedspread) more than half done. I've also been hanging out with Laura from
work quite a bit. Many of her friends are asian, so I've been flexing my
chopstick muscles lately - they were a little flabby.

The fish are doing well. I've been sort of ignoring them, and the boys'
filter system needs to be clean, but there have been no murders so things
can't be too bad.

I went to Traverse City last weekend for Becky's wedding - it was very nice,
and a nice reception. Man, everybody there could DANCE! I was amazed. I
was also a wuss, and left at 10 b/c I was tired. I'm hoping I was tired b/c
of the drive up, and not just getting old ;-) It was a very good celebration
though; and I'm very happy for Becky and Brian (Crain).

I'm also getting along with my housemates well. We sat down monday ngiht
and set up a cleaning schedule. The Whole house will be cleaned thoroughly
 - walls washed, ceiling de-cobwebbed, floors washed, furniture moved!
Fortunately we're doing it in small chunks, otherwise it'd feel like slave
labor.

I've also been in the urge to cook lately. I made Chocolate chip
"Ona Cookies" sunday night (vegan cookies) and I made JELLY Monday
night. Yes, Jelly, for the first time in my life. I'm proud - it
turned out very nicely! It was crabapple jelly, and it's a deep
jewel-red in the jar, and a bright pink on your toast :)

My room still doesn't look lived in - I need to buy a rug and a desk,
and then I think things will all be settled. At least as much as they
can be. The room is still huge, but getting my computer set up and
having a nightstand will make me feel better.

I've decided not to have internet connectivity from my room, so I will
continue to e-mail only from work. I might end up getting connectivity
if I take classes at WCC in the spring, but that's a big IF. We'll see.
I might just try to teach myself web animation at home - I bought a book
last week.

I think that's about it for the ALU. I hope everyone is doing well.

Happy Hallween!! :)

I forgot to tell y'all about the dream I had this morning.

I dreamed I was a spaceman out in space, and my partner was a martian.
We were both suited up, and I think repairing something on the outside
of the shuttle. When we came back inside the shuttle (through the airlocks)
he became EVIL and wanted to kill me. We ended up inside the shuttle,
both alive, and my copilot was there. I think the Martian took over the
shuttle, and was gloating about the "stupid Earthings," I guess there was
some other - superior - alien race that had a base on the far side of the
moon that he had decided to work for that people on Earth didn't know about
(But I guess Mars did, or at least some did. They just didn't acknowledge
it). So, since he was going to have to kill us both anyways, he was going
to show us the forbidden alien base.

And then my alarm went off.

But wasn't that a cool dream? I was in space, and there were aliens, and
everything!
