Well Hello there Kiddies!

Yes it's time once again for, as Joe called it, another episode in the Soap Opera that is Amy's Life!
Yes, the ongoing saga of my life is unfolding, ever dazzling, ever new!

Right now it's early a.m. I mean REALLY early (check the date stamp at the top of your e-mails, everyone).
So, Amy is up late on a weeknight. Wow, that's 3 things you hardly ever see at once, any combination of 2
is even unusual (Amy, weeknight, late).

I'm gearing up, and a little bit; actually more than a little bit; excited to be taking my first VACATION
tomorrow. I'm completely enthralled with the oh-so-adult feeling of having a real job using my real degree
and feeling oh-so-cool to have vacation time, so I'm taking a 4 day weekend. :) I'll be in Grand Rapids
and the surrounding area all weekend, and I'll try to check my e-mail so if you'll be in the area and want to
get in touch... do it! My only comittments so far are Saturday lunch w/ Chris and Kathy, and Friday night @
the bar w/ Michelle.

And of course Steve ;>

Speaking of which, I get to spend something close to 4 days with the boy this weekend, which doubles our
standing record of 2 contiguous days together. We'll see what an oh-so-rough approximation of living in
the same area is like; alpha-test the concept so to speak.

In other aspects of my personal life, I've been hanging out with Dan Trombley lately. That's a saga in
itself, watching his life unfold and differing aspects of his personal life. Most intriguing was watching
him go to town on an old-style radio with his Sword. Second most was riding in his Jeep to the top of the
observatory hill tonight.

The back way.

Lots of trees and steep hills and branches in the windshield. But an excellent view! :)

As for my moving prospects... well, the sights are currently set on Ypsilanti. Jeannine has a boyfriend
(Justin), so she will probably not be moving down with me.  That leaves me wondering what exactly to do;
current thoughts are running toward campus corkboards at EMU. That way it's definite that someone HAS a
place, they need a roomie, and I can move in in September. In other words, less hassle for me.
I still haven't done much job searching yet; I'm kind of hesitant b/c I don't know what I'm looking for
(Chem? CompSci? Penneys?), and I don't know who might be hiring now for September. I think it's primarily
LAAAAAAAARGE companies that do recruiting like that, and I'd rather work for a 9-24 person company. Larger
than Enviro Lab, but Smaller than a corporation. Reality and a sense of WHY you're working, but with a
social aspect.

Whilst on the topic of jobs; Enviro Lab comes to mind. In theory, I'll be there for another 5-6 weeks.
Kelly should have another 2 weeks at her current job, and then I have a month to train her. That's in
theory though, b/c there have been no dates set yet, and I don't want to set things up with J.C. Penney
(my fallback job year after year) until I know exactly what's going on. That, and I can't get insurance
through Penneys until September, and I don't know how much it'll be to pay for everything myself. We'll see.

Right now, things have gotten busy at work. After seeing everybody on the weekend of the 4th, I told
myself I was going to LIKE work. It was a struggle, but I made it in to work on time the majority of
the week (I think it was all week, but I'm not certain). In fact, I think that's one of the fallbacks
of EnviroLab: the days run into days, weeks into weeks, it's interminable and rather like Oatmeal. I
can't explain it well, but picture your calender, then smeal a bowl of oatmeal all over it. It's thick,
yet bland, and erases all signifcant dates, blending one into the next and taking away all uniqueness.

THat was depressing, I'll try to wrap things up nicely...

I'm doing great in my Website class

business-webnt.nmc.edu/cfdocs/harrana/pets/p3pets.frm

that's the current incarnation. Not too thrilling to y'all, but I'm pretty impressed with what we can do
and how easy it is. It's making the concept of a computers job pretty appealing downstate, but I don't
know what sort of qualifications I might have. I'm thinking of taking a couple of weeks in between jobs
to do the self paced "PC Hardware and Maintenance" class thru the Electronics division of NMC. If anybody
has any input as to the merit of that class, I'd appreciate it.

Bessie's well, as are Bert and his babies. Jaime, Phreak, and myself are getting along well. All in
all, things are running smoothly.

I'll hopefully be hearing from y'all later!! :)
