For Young Adults

First Things First! We do Dewey here! The Dewey Decimal System, an organizational tool for libraries. The books are organized according to 10 broad classifications of books on similar topics. Each book has a number on the spine or back. Every 100 division to 900 (100, 200, 300, etc) represents a broad group of books similar to each other. Of course, it's broken down more completely using decimal numbers on a second line. Every number means something.

You might find something of interest in KidSpace!, also from the IPL--Internet Public Library. Or. maybe, TeenSpace! is for you.

Newspapers and Magazines on the Web

What's going on at the White House these days? This is the Library. Look around. Back up one directory to see what's there (erase the html/library.html part of the URL in your Netsite or address box). This is often a good way to find more information on your subject.

Interactive Citizens' Handbook, from the Federal Government. Helpful information from Washington (DC, not George).

If you're into athletics, maybe you'll like the sports page I made when I worked for the University of Rhode Island. Try this sports search tool. Just type your sports term into the box.

Librarian's use Staff Resource Assistance. So can you. Try Web Resources if you're making a web page. Some of the headings on this page are of interest only to University of California librarians. Others are useful for all of us. Look around.

Great Young Adults Resources, with a section for your younger brothers and sisters too. Practice teaching with them. They'll love it! Lots of homework helper links too. Get that project done fast.
