Statements of Principles
This edition of VeRBosity contains reports on six Federal Court decisions relating to veterans' matters handed down in the period from 1 July to 30�September 1998. The case of McKenna deals with the application of several Statements of Principles where there is a chain of causation linking operational service and the condition under review. Wheeldon, Shelton, Deathe and Winch examine whether the AAT correctly applied the "reasonable hypothesis" standard of proof in section 120 of the VE Act. Winch is also concerned with an issue of apprehended bias. The case of A�v�Repatriation Commission deals with assessment of incapacity resulting from a psychiatric condition.
This edition includes reports on selected AAT decisions handed down in the period from July to September 1998. Information is also included about new Statements of Principles issued by the Repatriation Medical Authority and matters currently under formal investigation.
