URI-ASP CV Information:

Dr. Hume's CV guidelines:

Curriculum vitae:
Evidence of your five, six, seven or more years at the University of Rhode Island

A Curriculum vitae, or CV,:

Differs from a resume in that the former lists all of your professional experiences including education, work history, involvement with professional organizations, presentations, publications and research projects. A resume is usually limited to one page listing your education and work experience.

Is always a "work in progress". You should be revising a CV on a regular basis. For example, five years after graduation, your CV shouldn't still contain items from your clerkships.

Contains no spelling errors, avoids excessive changes in font size and style, and is printed on high quality paper using a laser jet printer. In a word, your CV must be professional.

Contains the truth, and nothing but the truth, about your experiences. The addition of "fluff" to a CV is easily detected.

Is prepared over several weeks, and not overnight.

Is a document that should be reviewed by several faculty members, although you may get differing, or even contradictory, opinions.
