     Provides students with an example of a personal experience essay. Reading, vocabulary development and writing are among the skills this lesson develops.

Thinking About Mumia Abu-Jamal's Live from Death Row
     
Designed for a seminar class, the preface is read, and a questions are posed about issues of "law and order," the concept of trial by jury and whether in America justice is equally available to all.

At Trial: What Constitutes A Strong Case?
     Class responds to video about the Mumia Abu-Jamal case by examining the evidence and arguments for both sides, and then discusses their strengths and weaknesses.
