Larisa Mokhir (Kovbasyuk), PhD

Larisa Mokhir graduated from Kiev State University, Ukraine with a M.Sc (1995). From 1995 until February, 1999 she worked in Dr. V.N. Kokozay's laboratory in the Inorganic Chemistry Department of the same University. In March, 1999 she defended her Ph.D. dissertation entitled "???". Presently, she is working as a post-doctoral research associate for Prof. Dr. R.Krämer in the Chemistry Department of Ruprecht-Karls Heidelberg University in Germany.
Larisa's research interests span from synthesis, spectral and structural characterization of classical coordination compounds to synthesis and study of inorganic models of natural enzymes: nucleases and peptidases. She is primary author of 5 full papers and co-author of 3 other full papers. Her research successes were distinguished with two sequential one year grants from the Soros Foundation - 1997/98 and 1998/99 along with grants in 1997, 1998 and 1999 for participation in several scientific conferences.
