Today, sports is dramatically different from yesteryear, it is distinctly commercialized. Records have been broken beyond human imagination, some achieved ethically, others albeit through artificial means, such as drugs-related. My beginnnings with sports was swimming at the tender age of 5. By eight, I was swimming competitively, representing my primary school in various inter-school meets. However, I gave up competitive swimming in secondary school but continued to participate actively in other sports, such as badminton, cycling, bowling, water-skiing, table tennis, etc. After marriage, it was a complete change for me, I became very inactive in sports and diverted my energies towards other interests.
