holding my own

It's funny just how unimportant what people think of you can be. Those core beliefs we have in self, are all we need. Resonant within me is the belief that I am everything I need. I feel strong, alive and able to make my way in the world because I can adapt, accept and make the changes necessary to keep moving.

At the beginning of the year, I wrote in what was to be my new year's entry, about wanting to allow the phrase "Let it go" become part of my life. After six months I suppose now is as good a time as any to take stock of where we're at.

Phrases that stuck:

"Let it go"
"Shit happens"
"So be it"
"Keep moving"
"Self discipline"
"You can only ever live up to your own expectations - of yourself"
"Don't do anything you don't want to do" *
"By whatever means necessary"
"As you wish"
"You don't owe anybody anything just because they love you."**
"The truest kind of love is the one that sets you free"
"The ties that bind us"
"Strength from the resonant clarity of clear vision."
"Just believe in yourself"
"Fuck it"
"Live for today"
"Know thy self"
"Fare thee well."
and finally, Cellos as a metaphor for all kinds of things.

I'm sure there are more. I'm sure there will be more to come. I'm still using my gills to navigate.

* In doing this you find you'll never find yourself asking anyone to do anything they don't want to do.
