Trying to get the vampire would be worthless. There would
be no way for you to do it. It is way too risky. You have
to go for Mary. Without a second thought you rush at her
with your knife. The knife goes right through her spinal cord.
You were able to save Jim in the nick of time, but poor Mary.
She lets out a pitiful cry as she falls to the ground.
"NO!!!" the vampire cries out as he leaves his position to
come after you, but he never makes it.
Her death drains all his energy. He falls to the ground about
2 feet from where you stand. He looks at you and tries with his
last bit of energy to hypnotize you. However he doesn't have the
strength. You felt the initial pull of a hypnotic
suggestion, but it quickly fades. You and Jim look at each other
in shock. Later that night after the authorities arrive to the
scene, they find Nick's body on the roof of the cabin.
Appearantly he was attacked by Mary. That fact helps you realize
that there was nothing you could have done. Even if you had
tried to kill the vampire rather than Mary, it wouldn't have
mattered, Nick was her first blood. Knowing you made the right
decision offers you a little comfort, but it doesn't help the
sadness inside of you when you attend her funeral.
