The Board of Trustees of the Friends of the University of the Philippines Foundation in America has established a $26,000 matching grant for the Centennial Gift Campaign. This campaign challenges all U.P. alumni to give generously. Board members will personally match all contributions to the Centennial Gift Campaign, dollar for dollar, up to $26,000. Every dollar of your out-of-pocket contribution will be worth as much as $3.89 (almost four times!) to your beloved alma mater, the University of the Philippines.* Imagine what a $100 contribution to the Centennial will do. It will directly fund up to 14,000 pesos, or two months of a professor�s salary. Your contribution will definitely be appreciated by your university.
* Assumes you are in the highest tax bracket (39.6%),
and your state tax is 9%. If you give $195 to the Centennial gift, the Board of FUPFA will match it so that your total gift is $389. Since $95 of your $195 gift are tax-deductible, your out-of-pocket cost is only $100.
