The Ang Bahay Ng Alumni"
After several years of painstaking fundraising and with the generous donations of our alumni here and abroad, the UPAA and the state university have finally built and completed the Ang Bahay ng Alumni Convention and Multi-Service Center into an imposing reality inside the UP Diliman campus. Built on a 3,000 square meter lot at the corner of Magsaysay and Balagtas Streets, adjacent to the Fonacier Hall ( the former U.P. Alumni Center ), the Ang Bahay is a modern structure that has four levels - basement, ground level, second level and roofdeck. It features a convention hall, meeting rooms, a restaurant and coffee shop, gallery, bookstore, office spaces for lease and other facilities for various social services.
The vaulted roof echoes the form of several older buildings within the campus such as the Gymnasium, the old DCMT barracks beside the Engineering Building, and the old UP Theater now replaced by a more up-to-date structure of bricks, stone, and metal. From inside the main assembly hall, the high vaulted ceiling gives a sense of scale and a view to appreciate the stained glass facade with an image of UPAAs logo.

In the evenings, the main vault, lighted by metal halide lamps, backlights the stained glass facade that serves as a directional sign especially during social functions. The main vault is made of a three layered composite material of Galvanized sheets with an insulated core. This minimizes the influx of heat on sunny days. During rainy periods, the insulated core buffers the sound of rain clattering on the metal roof
After finishing the First Phase of the Ang Bahay, the UPAA Board created a Planning Development Committee to study the Second Phase which is the recreation and sports facilities, the hostel to house alumni from abroad and connection to the old Alumni Center. The completed project will be known as the Alumni Complex.
