I move that the GANS Board reimburse Laura Yoho for the 2 nights of her hotel room for annual convention that was not paid by Emory SON. Written by Jessica Hunt. Seconded by Cherie Giles PASSED II. Golf Tournament a. profit $6,056.12 b. Hospital America still owes $1600--having trouble contacting Craig III. Convention a. several hospitals have come forward as sponsors b. Hurst Review wants to be a Platinum Sponsor and possibly a tote bag sponsor c. Food for convention has been set up d. Will close Running From Floor elections on Friday after HOD: no one may run from the floor on Saturday e. COSP is August 16th at Macon State College--will have a PowerPoint to tell about state convention in October. f. Loretta Manning will do NCLEX review IV. Fundraising a. PASSED d. Bring items for Silent Auction to state convention -- nursing books, nursing memorabilia, etc. V. Scholarships a. Hospital America will give 2-$500 scholarships for students to attend the NSNA Annual Convention. b. At state convention, we will give a $500 scholarship for anyone to receive c. At state convention, we will give the $500 Lipinski scholarship to a male nurse. VI. Awards/Pre-Slate a. cut off dates for applications and pre-slating is September 12th--want applications in hands on Sept 12 VII. Entertainment a. Committee will get together via email b. Will give out door prizes during HOD VIII. Motions to be brought at HOD a. Dress Code IX. COSP a. Held at Macon State College August 16th from 9:30-3:00...11:00-2:00 will be COSP b. See if Medical Center will sponsor lunch c. Award application/pre-slate applicaitons will be handed out d. Added awards to mention: Dean of the Year, Lipinski, Hospital America X. EKG--submit articles by July 1st XI. Wend's new Board position -- she is now on the HSTAT BOD XII. PR Director -- wants to send flyers to schools about joining GANS and convention; also for those on Board who have graduated, please keep a log. XIII. Community Service -- Think about Medishare for next meeting; talk with Kristan Drake about Medishare XIV. Kristan Drake would like to take over the vacant 2nd VP position -- will discuss at July meeting XV. Kalin Whaley -- Laura emailed about board position, gave her options, but Kalin never responded. She owes $657 XVI. Motion--I move that the position of 2nd VP (Kalin Whaley) and NEC West (Shelisha Patrick) be vacated due to excessive absenteeism. Written by Krystal Knight.
