| 1. Call to Order: Laura Yoho, President, called the first meeting of the Board of Directors of the Georgia Association of Nursing Students to order at 9:00am. 2. Roll Call: |

| Quorum: Laura Yoho, President, declared a quorum present. 3. Motions were written as follows: |
| A. It was moved and carried that Suzanne Hughes be voted on for the position of NEC South seeing that no defeated candidate was in the South district and she is the only member requesting position. Author: Kystal Knight. Seconded by: Cherie Giles. Action: Carried. B. It was moved and carried that Ashley Greene from MCG-Athens as an alternate for the GANS Board. She will take the appropriate position if someone resigns or fails to complete assigned duties. Author: Elisha Huff. Seconded by: Jessica Hunt. Action: Carried. C. It was moved and carried that the NEC South, North, and West attend Mid-Year Conference with paid travel to Kansas City, Missouri, November 14-17. The money spent will be the same amount as other Board Members. If any of these members fails to fulfill their yearly duties they will be bound to reimburse GANS for expenses. Author: Cherie Giles. Seconded by: Krystal Knight. Action: Carried. D. It was moved and carried that GANS pays the expenses for our Retired Board Member, Susie DeBruhl to attend the Mid-Year State Conference in Kansas City, Missouri, November 14-17, 2002. With the agreement the GANS expenses for the hotel, flight, convention, and any other GANS expenses will be reimbursed for not completing the complete year of office. Author: Jessica Hunt. Seconded by: Vermell Whaley. Action: Carried. E. It was moved and carried that the NEC Chair be allowed funding to attend the Mid-Year Conference with the GANS Board. This wil take place in Kansas City, Missouri, November 14-17, 2002. This person will agree to reimburse GANS for any money spent on housing, registration, and airfare if they fail to fulfill their full term duties. Author: Krystal Knight. Seconded by: Cherie Giles. Action: Carried. F. It was moved that Ashley Green, official alternate of the GANS Executive Board, attend the National Convention in Kansas City. Her airfare and registration would be covered. One-fifth of Ashley's hotel room would be paid. However, if Ashley fails to fulfill her obligations as an alternate, she will reimburse GANS for expenses paid. Author: Elisha Huff. Seconded by: Angie Van Ronk. Action: Defeated. G. It was moved and carried that GANS pay the expenses for the GANS Executive Baord to attend Mid-Year Convention held in Kansas City, Missouri, November 14-17, 2002. In the event that any Executive Board member not fulfilling their year of Office, the individual will be responsible for full reimbursement of all expenses incurred. The President, Editor, and Public Relations Director will be attending on November 13-17, 2002. GANS will pay expenses for the extra day. Author: Cherie Giles. Seconded: Krystal Knight. Action: Carried. H. It was moved and carried that the GANS Board pay half of the expenses of all GANS alternates. These expenses include airfare, registration, and one-fifth hotel accommodations to the NSNA Mid-Year Conference in Kansas City, Missouri. All funds paid will be reimbursed to the GANS Board if any member fails to meet full-term commitment. Action: Samantha Sikking. Seconded by: Ashley Green. Action: Carried. |

Location: Hyatt Regency Crown Center 3. Treasurer will be in charge of registration, airfare, and hotel arrangements. 4. Today all in attendance to the board meeting planned on attending Mid-Year. C. Next Meeting 1. November 9, 2002 at 10:00am 2. Inner Harbour Hospital in Douglasville, GA (8 miles west of Six Flaggs) 3. Ropes course when we arrive 4. Bring clothing for GANS to donate to the Hospital 5. Meeting and lunch will follow Ropes Course D. January Meeting 1. Macon State College 2. January 18th, 2003 3.
