1.  Call to Order: The regular meeting of the Board of Directors of the Georgia Association of Nursing Students was claled to order at 10:15am by Kelly Knox, President.

2.  Roll Call:

3.  Quorum: Kelly Knox, President, declared a quorum present.

4.  Motion were written as follows:
A. It was moved and carried that Claudia Whitmore, an alternate board member, fill the position of EKG Editor in the absence and resignation of Elizabeth Hunnicutt, our former EKG Editor.  Submitted by:  Ashley Green.  Seconded by: Brandi Dingler.  Action: Carried.

B. It was moved and carried that GANS agree to provide three dinners and one breakfast at the GANS Convention in October, 2002.  Submitted by:  Brandi Dingler.  Seconded by:  Ashley Green.  Action:  Carried

C. It was moved and carried that the following levels be set for exhibitors at the 50th GANS Annual Convention in October 2002:
     Bronze level     $700
     Silver level       $900
     Gold level        $1100
     Platinum level   $2300

$200 for each focus session, $200 for sponsoring a break only

D. It was moved and carried that GANS pay for 1/2 travel and 1/2 hotel expenses at the NSNA National Convention in Philadelphia, PA for Cindy Green, GLN Consultant.  Submitted by:  Lakita Thrower.  Seconded by:  Marni Dodd.  Action:  Carried

E. It was moved and carried that GANS get reimbursed for GANS board members' regiostration fees for GNA's legislative reception by the following means:
     $30 should be deducted from each board member's gas/travel/copies reimbursement
     at the end of their term of office if he/she did not attend GNA's Legislative Reception
     and was preregistred to attend.

Registration fees for convention in Philadelphia have been made for 15 people
6.  Report of officers
Each board member present gave an update of his/her activities and goals.

7.  New Business
A.  The tentative schedule for the 50th Annual GANS Convention was passed out and the resubmitted hotel contract was reviewed by Laura Yoho.  The hotel will need 90 days advance notice of the types of meals needed.  72 hours notice will be needed for the number of people attending the banquet.

B. Suggestions were made that the registration forms for the GANS convention be very descriptive to include such items as t-shirts and banquet sign-ups.

C. The meals for three dinners were chosen from the menu provided by the hotel.  The three chosen were:
     1)  The Riverwatch
     2)  The Augusta
     3)  Boursin Chicken

D.  Suggestions for focus sessions were made such as humor in nursing, spirituality in nursing, and that we obtain additional suggestions from GANS members at the annual convention in Philadelphia, PA.

E. Jennifer Menichetti will be assisting Cindy Green with updating the GANS website and Cindy Green will help Claudia set up an account with a printer for the EKG.

F. An EKG newsletter willb e out before school gets out in April and will include bios, registration forms for convention, and a tentative schedule for convention.  This first issue will be sent out in bulk to all school advisors to be distributed to all members of GANS.
9. The next meeting will be in Philadelphia, PA, and will be held during the NSNA Annual Convention between April 3rd and April 7th.

10. This regular meeting of the GANS Board was adjourned by Kelly Knox, President, at 11:15am.
