| 1. Call to Order: The regular meeting of the Board of Directors of the Georgia Association of Nursing Students was called to order at 10:25am by Kelly Knox, President 2. Roll Call: Kelly Knox-President Laura Yoho-1st VP Lakita Thrower-2nd VP Barbara Womack-Treasurer Brandi Dingler-Secretary Melissa Curry-BTN Director Marnie Dodd-PR Dir Elizabeth Hunnicutt-EKG Editor Ashley Green-East Dis. Dir. Latasha Lewis-West Dis. Dir. Cindy Green-GLN Consultant Carolyn Hickox-GNA Consultant Dr. Debbie Hatmaker-Presidential Advisor Kay Gatins-MSCANS Advisor 3. Quorum: Kelly Knox, President, declared a quorum present. 4. Minutes: The minutes of the November 17th meeting were read and approved. 5. Motions were written as follows: |
| A. It was moved and carried that voting on NEC reimbursement to go to NSNA Annual Convention in Philadelphia, PA be tabled until the next GANS Board meeting. Submitted by: Brandi Dingler. Seconded by: Ashley Green. Action: Carried. B. It was moved and carried that any member of the GANS executive board who states that they are attending the national convention in Philadelphia in April 2002 and does not attend must reimburse GANs for travel and registration fees. Submitted by: Lakita Thrower. Seconded by: Elizabeth Hunnicutt. Action: Carried. C. It was moved and carried that GANs will pay for travel, registration, and hotel fees for the executive GANs Board to attend the NSNA convention in Philadelphia, PA in April 2002. Submitted by: Ashley Green. Seconded by: Elizabeth Hunnicutt. Action: Carried. D. It was moved and carried that the GANS Board be reimbursed for mileage and phone use at the end of the 2001-2002 term at the board's discretion. Submitted by: Brandi Dingler. Seconded by: Ashley Green. Action: Carried E. It was moved and carried that GANS have its October 2002 convention in conjunction with the Georgia Association of Nursing Students. | 7. Report of officers Each board member present gave an update of his/her activities and goals. 8. New Business |
| A. Laura Yoho went to the Radison in Augusta, GA, to discuss joint convention with GNA. Romms are $99/night at the Country Inn Suites. B. Reminder: GNA Legislative Reception is from 5:30-7:30pm on January 31, 2002. Barbara Womack will mail registration forms and money to GNA for this event. C. A group from the GANs Board will meet with GNA to discuss splitting exhibitor fees between GANS and GNA. D. Board members should email Kelly Knox with ideas for themes for the 2002 GANs Annual Convention. E. COSP Planned for February 16th, 2002 at Emory from 11am-3pm Board meeting will be at 3pm Meet at 10am to prepare for COSP F. Barbara Womack suggested some fundraising ideas for NSNA Annual Convention such as developing cookbooks, raffling a trip, etc. Other ideas wee suggested such as selling t-shirt, Spanish translation booklets, and guessing the number of beans/peanuts in a jar for a prize. G. Suggestions for resolutions to be turned into NSNA before Feb. 15th H. NSNA Annual Convention will be held April 3-7th at the Philadelphia Marriot Hotel. Barbara Womack will make air travel arrangements and registration fee payments for those members of the GANS board attending the event. |
| GNA Convention will be 10-09-02 through 10-11-02 GANS Convention will be 10-10-02 through 10-13-02 The GANS Board will be in Augusta on 10-02-02 GNA will be given $4/room from the Radisson to staff registration at the convention. |

| 9. The next meeting will be February 16th, 2002 at Emory at 10:00am 10. This regular meeting of the GANS Board was adjourned by Kelly Knox, President, at 2:00pm. |
