GANS Board Meeting
May 20, 2000

I. The meting was called to order by President Karl Lipinski at 1109.  The meeting was held at Athens Regional Medical Center.
II.  Role Call

III.  Unfinished Business
1. Cindy explained the revisions made to the contract and booking agreement that was set up for state convention with the Clarion Resort on Jekyll Island.
2. The GANS State Board would like to formally recognize Mayanne Biaette and James Green for their accomplishments at National Convention.  The state is proud to have these representatives serving us at the national level.  Congratulations!
IV.  New Business
1. The board voted to excuse James Green from the May meeting.  He is currently in New York for an NSNA meeting.
2. Lisa Jones reminded the board members to continue selling the lillipops for the BTN fund.
3. Amy Richter suggested that the NEC send postcard to all GANS members eligible to run for state office.  This would allow NEC to approach interested members earlier and to have more positions pre-slated for convention.  Amy requested that GANS cover the cost of buying and shipping the postcards.  Abbie Miller motioned to send postcards to GANS members eligible for state office.  The motion passed.
4. Melody Martin is working on setting up an International Hospital community service project for the state.  Such a project would provide local GANS chapters to become more involved in community servie projects.
5. The next board meeting will be held in Atlanta, Georgia on June 17, 2000.  Location and time still to be determined.
V. Karl Lipinski adjourned the May 20, 2000 meeting at 1330.
