Minutes Proper:

    1. Presentation/ Discussion by Gabby Consulta – Gabby briefly discussed about Manila's plan to hold a Movie Premiere. He also discussed a possible Golf Tournament.

To this, the USA Contingent's job is to inform relatives in the Philippines of the upcoming events so that we could maximize attendance and funds raised for the SBCAA Scholarship.

Gabby also enlightened us about the fact that SBC, Mendiola, seems to be in a deteriorated state as compared to when we were growing up within its walls. However, new buildings have been built around the former softball field and the grandstand, which suggests a larger number of enrollees. Part of our aim to raise funds is to have a "facelift" project of the SBC Grounds in Mendiola, be it the renovation of the basketball courts, or swimming pool, or even painting the walls. This will be determined by how much SBCHS75 could raise.

    2. SBCHS75, USA Fund raising
      1. Foremost on the list is the establishment of a non-profit organization in order to make our fund-raising efforts legal. Joseph Yu was given the task, and is looking into establishing it in Nevada, where Butch Halog resides. This may be more economical, so that funds raised could be maximized for our charitable endeavor.
      2. Golf Tournament - to be planned by Sonny Alejandre, Jojo Padua, and Joseph Yu. Tentatively, they are looking into the golf course in Asuza, CA. Everyone was asked to start collecting lists of prospective donors for the 18 hole tournament. Al mentioned that through his contact at the Asian Journal, we could advertise any of our activities. NOTE: Post-meeting e-mail correspondence - So. Cal. is planning to participate in the SBCAA of So. Cal. Golf Tournament on July 31, to learn about the logistics of the tournament through our brothers in SBCAA. Sonny V.D. will contact Pert Miraflor, Pres. of SBCAASC, to find out more.
      3. Raffle - Possibly to coincide with the festivities after the Tournament is a Raffle promotion, whose Grand Prize is tentatively a multimedia PC. Other prizes are planned, like a DVD player and satellite TV device. The raffle will be promoted during the tournament, but it may be best to hold it at a later time so that a maximum number of tickets may be sold. These are tentative depending on time constraints.
      4. Al Alcantara suggested that in order to raise seed money for the fund raising activities, SBCHS75 members of the "Virtual" region be tapped for monetary support. This is similar to how Catholic Parochial Schools work. Those who participate contribute their time and effort towards the success of the fund raising effort. Meanwhile, those who cannot give their time will participate through monetary donations. This way, everyone participates. Those who are local and opt not to participate through their time, may also participate through the monetary donations. This is just fair for everyone.
      5. In light of above mentioned, Jocel R. will make a letterhead for the SBCHS75 Alumni Foundation for solicitation of sponsors and batchmates. The logo may also be used for a T-shirt fundraising activity, whereby, the design will be advertised in our website, and people may order. We can also print various T-shirt, Polo Shirt styles, so that ALL Bedans would want to purchase T-Shirts.
