As David becomes mildly conscious him and Rosalind have a meeting of the minds and we learn that Rosalind’s true self is much different from that which she outwardly shows. After this is finished and David becomes fully conscious, Michael asks what had happened. David didn’t really know, but Rosalind fills in the details. They were attacked by Fringe people; who are know leading them further and further into the Fringe country.
The man who in charge of the Fringe party shares with Rosalind, David and Petra an interesting bit of knowledge. The Fringe man says that the changes in the deviational pattern of various regions are settling down and the areas are becoming more stable in a pattern of an expanding arc from the Waknuk area. The Earth is basically healing itself after 2,000 years.
Knowing that they will be interrogated by the Fringe people, Rosalind and David decide that it’s best if they tell them the truth, only downplay it like Sally and Katherine had. They decide against telling the Fringe people about the pending rescue by the Sealand people. They did tell them about the search party that was following them.
Rosalind, David and Petra are led to the leader of the Fringe people; the Spider-Man. Spider-Man asks David if he knows who he is; David does not, Spider-Man is his father’s brother, who as a child ran away to the Fringes. The Spider-Man makes it known that he wants Rosalind to have babies with. David, upon hearing that, jumps on Spider-Man, but is caught by his guards. He is thrown out into the bushes.
