I am working at Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC), in the Land
and Business Geographics section of Real Estates Services (RPS) in Ottawa. My job title
is Land Information & Project Officer. Basically, I have no idea what that means.
Currently I am verifying and adding the correct information into one database and entering
comments on where the two sources have conflicting data. The objective is to have the
most current and correct data in order for the two databases to have hte same information
for their respective purposes. Later, I will have to explain to both parties what seems to be
wrong in their database. The question I am asking myself is: Is this in any way related to
GIS? At this point I don't really care, I get up, go to work and eventually get a paycheck
(yeahh!!). This job is for approx. 4 months (started in May) but could last longer depending
on the work load.
