"Water, water, everywhere; and not a drop to drink." is one of the
wonderful lines from the famous poem by Samuel Coleridge
called `The Rime of the Ancient Mariner'. It depicts the greatness
and power of the ocean; and our vain attempts to dominate it.
Our world seen from space is this proof of the power of water; and that we, as small microcosms of this physical world, are also made up to a large part of water. |

I'm very attracted to water. I'm always keen to live next to the ocean (which is why I love Tel Aviv). It's a meditation, soothing, and spiritual place. It's also fun to play in. Not only do I love to swim; surf; sail and dive in the stuff; but I love to keep fish in my house as well. I have a tropical tank with white mollies; angelfish; a fire eel; and some penguins; and my pair of favourite Siamese Fighting fish. |

Diving into an ocean or river has to be one of the most beautiful experiences
in a person's life. I have just taken my PADI Open Water certificate,
and so my opinions must be tempered with a lot of emotion without a lot
of experience.
My favourite place that I've dived has to be around the Red Sea/Sinai area. The waters are not the cleanest in the world because of the locals poor attitude to pollution; but the fishlife is extensive and the clubs are well run and professional. |
